We were only a few days into August and we were back competing again! We took a team of five horses to Glenbrae for the YVJC’s winter show. MacMillan jumped really well each day finishing 2nd in the 1.20m on Sunday which now makes him C grade. Annibell also finished with a ribbon; she was 3rd in the 1.15m on Saturday. Beck’s young horses were having a few weeks break after all their winter training but she was lucky enough to get the ride on Yoicks Top Deck thanks to the Houghton family. She rode him in a few height classes each day winning a few of them and never out of the placing’s. Paul also rode Cloud at his first official show for Kate Farrell and he behaved and jumped really well. Paul also rode Isle of Tatiana for Fiona Hawkes and she jumped super, such a careful mare.
The following weekend we prepared all the horses for Geelong show and headed down on Friday night. Unfortunately they had a lot of rain leading up to the show and the grounds were very heavy. We made the decision to only start a few of the younger horses in ring two and to leave the graded horses for another day. Cloud again behaved well and finished with a placing in the 1.05m class. Cavalli Park Amigo also handled to going well and jumped consistently all weekend.
